We've been in the technology industry for the past 18 years with a primary focus on retail and e-commerce. In 2019, we started looking at service companies and noticed something jarring.
The customer buying experience for service companies isn't nearly as transparent as it is for retail and e-commerce companies.
Almost every service company website we looked at provided very little information about their services upfront. Instead, the customer was required to make a phone call during business hours or send an email hoping to get a response within 24 hours. Without any visibility into the availability of the service, the approximate cost and what stage of the buying journey the customer is in.
In a world with Amazon, customers are used to knowing exactly what they're buying, how much it will cost and when it will be delivered. So we could only imagine how many customers these service companies were losing by not providing the transparency that most customers have come to expect today.
Bringing this transparency from the e-commerce world to the service industry was a no-brainer opportunity.
Our mission at Bookup is to simplify the online booking experience for the end-customer. To do this, we've built a powerful booking engine that captures the necessary information about a service request upfront and calculates the correct cost and time needed to perform the service—all online.
